Fishing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I caught the bug at just eight years old when my father first took me fishing, and I have been hooked ever since.

Over the years, I have fished in all kinds of environments, from quiet inland waters to the open ocean. I love fishing in all its forms, but there is something truly special about heading offshore into the vast Atlantic Ocean and never knowing what might appear next.

That lifelong passion inspired me to start Fishing Valhalla. Today, I get to share it with guests on offshore tuna fishing charters departing from Hout Bay, Cape Town.

Sharing My Passion for Fishing

For me, offshore fishing is about far more than catching fish. It is about the experience, the adventure and the privilege of spending time on the ocean.

One of the greatest rewards is watching someone catch a big tuna for the first time. When the reel starts screaming and a powerful Atlantic tuna takes off, the adrenaline is unlike anything else.

Seeing the excitement, concentration and sheer disbelief on a guest’s face makes all the preparation worthwhile.

I also love teaching people how to fish for tuna, use the equipment and fight these incredibly powerful fish safely and effectively. Passing on the knowledge I have gained through a lifetime of fishing is one of the most rewarding parts of running Fishing Valhalla.

Whether someone is an experienced angler or holding a fishing rod for the first time, I want them to feel comfortable, involved and part of the adventure.

I started Fishing Valhalla because I wanted to share something that has given me so much throughout my life.

My goal is for every guest to experience the excitement of departing from Hout Bay, heading offshore and waiting for that first bite. I want them to feel the power of a big Atlantic tuna and witness the incredible beauty of the ocean surrounding us.

Most importantly, I want people to leave the boat with new knowledge, unforgettable memories and a story they will be telling for years to come.
